This week we will learn some facts about the Renaissance Period. Let's listen to a piece by Spanish Composer T.L. Victoria: 'Ave Maria'. The lyrics are taken from the catholic prayer in latin:
Ave Maria
gratia plena,
Dominus tecum.
Benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus.
Sancta Maria,
Mater Dei,
ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
nunc, et in ora mortis nostrae.
Amen.
T.L.Victoria : At the age of 7-8 years , he entered the choir of the Cathedral of Avila , where he felt called to the priesthood and in late 1558 entered the service of the Cathedral.

The Bell: This is a male voice choir 4 on two choirs singing a capella , ie without instrumental accompaniment .
