Some hints about the Classical Period

Classical period goes from mid 18th century to early 19th century. It is the age of Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. Classical music seeks balance and proportion, in contrast with the previous Baroque music, ornated and virtuosistic. do anterior, el Barroco.

 The music you just listened to belongs to the 'Requiem', or mass for the dead, by Mozart. It was written at the end of his life, at 35. He could not finish it and it is surrounded by mistery. Requiem is a work for orchestra and choir and it is based in the prayers in latin from the Catholic church. The piece we listened to is 'Dies irae', or 'Day of wrath'.
